index with quality indicators of scientific and cultural journals published in Spanish and Portuguese.
The Catalogue is one of the three Latindex databases, which only includes those magazines that meet its rigorous editorial quality criteria. In Spain the Research Group Assessment of Scientific Publications (EPUC), under the Higher Centre for Scientific Research (CSIC), is the responsible institution at a national level for the collaboration with Latindex. EPUC is dedicated to the study, development and implementation of quality indicators in scientific magazines and monographs published in Spain, certifying the results.
The inclusion in an internationally recognized index as is Latindex, means another step towards achieving the objective of the highest academic quality to which Constelaciones aspires, both for the excellence of its contents as well as for the implementation of rigorous verification processes, evaluation, documentation and accessibility that guarantee their nature as scientific publications.
In this issue we publish twelve articles that describe a range of different interests focused on four great circles of affinities: Our recent past: an analysis of the relationship between photography and architecture in Loewy House by Albert Frey, an exceptional piece of architecture in the International Style; a new assessment of the resolution of the corner problem in Mies’ American architecture, using the apartments in Lake Shore Drive as test material; a review of the radical pledge of Superstudio and Archizoom, committed to redefining the discipline of architecture and its objectives in the 70’s; and a review of the ironic critique of skyscrapers as the dominant architectural typology in the metropolis that Matta-Clark and Rem Koolhaas formulated from views concurrent in time but divergent in the method.
The Sensory: an exploration of the effectiveness of the sketch not only as an agile and deliberate graphical tool, but also as an exploration and representation of visual elements, as well as tactile, audible and even olfactory aspects of the architectural experience; an approach to the construction of sound space in contemporary musical composition: the inner volume, interior/architectural space, micro-spaces, interaction between senses and space as a whole; and the study of Huarte House, conceived by its owners as a domestic experiment, in which Corrales and Molezún developed their particular concept of euritmia, understood as the integration of all human needs.
The City: A question about the possibility of planning the urban phenomenon from the landscape to indicate, as a possible way to achieve it, the development of a new culture of integrating social processes in the organization of the territory; a methodology proposal for the analysis of urban form through the incorporation of population density as a variable to find concentration patterns. In contrast with the previous consideration, and focusing on the case of affinities:

In contrast with the previous consideration, and focusing on the case of Madrid, you will find below an exploration of Madrid as a convent city, whose historical centre was profoundly transformed by the Ecclesiastical Confiscations in the 19th century. However, the empty properties left by the vanished religious orders made possible the creation of a network of public spaces which nowadays still organizes the historical centre.
Technology: in the last circle of topics you will find a text that describes and details the active glass enclosing system, with water circulating between two glass sheets, followed by the exposition of the basis for their energy performance through simulations; and finally you can read an article that demonstrates, experimentally, the existence of significant climate differences in the same urban environment, and subsequently calculates the energetic saving that might be possible if there were a detailed database and regulations to abide by.
Lastly, our aim is to serve as a space for thematic confluences following the best inklings for relevance and interest. While this issue means we have overcome a major challenge: the indexing as a scientific magazine, our unending commitment to quality intends to not stop here.
