Code of Good Practice
La revista Constelaciones declara que su objetivo fundamental es contribuir al progreso del conocimiento científico. Ningún interés comercial ni económico subyacen a la actividad editorial y divulgativa de esta revista, por lo que la aceptación o rechazo de los manuscritos recibidos se ajustará escrupulosamente a los principios de cientificidad de los textos y a los estándares de calidad editorial propios de las publicaciones científicas. A continuación, se especifican los criterios de conducta y buenas prácticas que rigen la actividad del Consejo editorial, así como el compromiso de los/as autores/as y de los/as revisores/as externos de Constelaciones:
I. Compromiso del Consejo Editorial
• Constelaciones asegura la total imparcialidad de su equipo editorial. Para garantizar el máximo rigor y objetividad en el funcionamiento de la publicación, Constelaciones cuenta con dos directores/as, siendo uno/a de ellos/as interno/a a la institución y otro/a externo/a a la misma.
• Constelaciones asegura la confidencialidad de los autores de los textos recibidos y de los evaluadores relacionados con el proceso de revisión externa.
• Constelaciones decidirá sobre la publicación de los textos en un plazo que no perjudique su actualidad.
• Constelaciones someterá todos los originales aceptados a revisión externa, doble y anónima por especialistas del área o tema. Para ello se servirá de los términos de referencia y glosarios incluidos en los manuscritos.
• En el caso de que las recomendaciones de las revisiones sean divergentes, Constelaciones se compromete a enviar el manuscrito a un tercer revisor, cuyo dictamen será definitivo para la aceptación o no del manuscrito.
• Constelaciones mantendrá informados a los autores sobre la fase en que se encuentren los originales durante el proceso de revisión.
• El elenco de revisores externos será revisado y actualizado periódicamente y hecho público al año siguiente de su colaboración.
• La aceptación de originales se atendrá a criterios de rigor conceptual, coherencia racional, relevancia científica del área temática de la publicación y de no conculcación del ideario institucional de respeto a la dignidad de las personas.
• Constelaciones tendrá permanentemente abierto un buzón de consultas y reclamaciones a las que responderá individualmente, a través de la dirección de e-mail secretario.constelaciones@ceu.es
II. Compromiso de publicación para los autores
• Los autores de los manuscritos garantizan que los textos remitidos a Constelaciones son originales, no publicados completa o parcialmente en otra revista.
• Los autores utilizarán la bibliografía más solvente y actual relativa al tema sobre el que versa el artículo.
• Los autores no discriminarán por motivos ideológicos, intereses comerciales o de otro tipo las referencias y fuentes de autoridad utilizadas.
• Los autores se comprometen a enviar una versión anónima del manuscrito que será utilizada para la doble revisión externa.
• Los autores se comprometen a enviar el manuscrito adaptado a las Normas Editoriales de publicación de Constelaciones.
• En caso de coautoría, los autores decidirán previamente el orden de los firmantes y así lo indicarán a la revista junto con sus respectivas filiaciones.
• Los autores se comprometen a declarar las fuentes de financiación directas o indirectas de la investigación que da origen al manuscrito.
• Los autores se comprometen a colaborar con eficacia y rapidez en la fase de edición del manuscrito y traducción al inglés.
III. Compromiso para los revisores externos
• Antes de aceptar la revisión de un manuscrito, los revisores indicarán al editor si el tema se ajusta a su especialidad y alertarán de eventuales conflictos de intereses.
• Los revisores aplicarán criterios de racionalidad científica en la ponderación de los textos que se les envíen para su revisión.
• Los revisores se comprometen a elaborar un informe ecuánime en el que se especifique el grado de aportación, actualidad, consistencia, rigor y claridad expositiva del texto.
• Los revisores elaborarán un informe basado en la plantilla de revisión facilitada por la revista. A él añadirán las observaciones que consideren pertinentes para que el editor se haga una justa apreciación del manuscrito y el autor pueda rectificar y mejorar la calidad del mismo.
• Los revisores se comprometen a cumplir los plazos señalados por el equipo editorial de Constelaciones, de modo que la elaboración del informe no retrase la publicación de los textos.
Constelaciones declares that its main objective is to contribute to the progress of scientific knowledge. There are no commercial or economic interests involved in the editorial and informative activity of this journal; therefore, the acceptance or denial of manuscripts received are conscientiously examined based on the scientific value of the originals and on the standards of editorial quality of scientific publications. The good practice followed by the activity of the Editorial board, and the commitment of the authors and external reviewers from Constelaciones, are detailed below:
I. Commitment of the Editorial Board
• Constelaciones ensures the absolute impartiality of its editorial team. To ensure maximum rigour and objectivity in the operation of the publication, Constelaciones has two directors, one of whom is internal to the institution and the other external to it.
• Constelaciones ensures the confidentiality of the authors of manuscripts received and of the external reviewers related to the external review process.
• Constelaciones will decide whether or not to publish originals, but always in a timely manner so as not to lower their current value.
• Constelaciones will ensure that all originals accepted are submitted to a double, external and anonymous review by experts in the topic area. To achieve this aim, reference terms and glossaries included in the manuscripts will be used.
• In the case of conflicting evaluations, Constelaciones will commit to sending the manuscript to a third reviewer whose verdict will be final in the acceptance or denial of the original.
• Constelaciones will keep the authors informed about the phase of the evaluation process in which the originals are located.
• The list of external reviewers will be revised and updated periodically and made public the year after their collaboration.
• Acceptance of originals will be based on criteria of conceptual rigor, rational coherence, scientific relevance of the topics of the publication, and the absence of infringement on institutional ideology of respect for people’s dignity.
• Constelaciones will keep a suggestion box permanently open via the email address secretario.constelaciones@ceu.es and all complaints and suggestions will be answered one by one.
II. Commitment of Publication by the Authors
• Authors of the manuscripts will guarantee that the manuscripts submitted to Constelaciones are originals and are not published partially or completely in any other journal.
• Authors will use the most current and accredited bibliography related to the topic of the article.
• Authors will not discriminate based on ideological, commercial, or any other grounds, against the references and sources of authority used.
• Authors will agree to include an anonymous copy of the original in order to be used for the external peer-review.
• The authors agree to submit the manuscript following the publication guide-lines of Constelaciones.
• In the case of co-authorship, the authors will decide beforehand the order of the signatories, and they will indicate this to the journal.
• Authors will declare the direct or indirect sources of funding for the re-search that originated the manuscript.
• The authors commit to collaborating effectively and quickly in the editing phase of the manuscript and translation into English.
III. Commitment of External Reviewers
• Before the acceptance of a manuscript, the reviewers will indicate to the editor of the journal if the topic is adapted to their area of specialization, and they will warn about possible conflicts of interests.
• Reviewers will apply scientific, rational criteria in the deliberation of the texts to be revised.
• Reviewers will commit to elaborating an impartial report that specifically states the degree of contribution of the text, its current relevance, consistency, rigor, and the written clarity of the article.
• The reviewers will draw up a report using the template provided by the journal. They will add their comments so that the editor will have a fair assessment of the manuscript sent, and the author will be able to rectify and improve the quality of the original.
• The reviewers will commit to complying with the time limits given by the editorial team of Constelaciones in order to avoid possible delays in the publication of the texts.
